This chair came to us as just a frame, it needed full restoration.
We began by taking it apart.
The entire frame needed to be sanded back and varnished, I choose this over danish oil as it was going to be going to a home with hopefully a lot of use.
We then added 6 layers of varnish sanding between each coat.
These legs and arms are just beautiful aren’t they?
New foam for the seat and backing covered in padding to ensure smooth lines.
New webbing on the back once it was put back together.
Next was the fabric, this was the first time I had done piping, after lots of unpicking i got it right. I felt like this detail is what this chair really needed.
